  steps for rendering z-depth
Posted by: Chewky - 09-09-2008, 12:54 AM - Forum: AfterBurn - Replies (6)

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could break down the workflow for rendering out a scene with z-depth data within an rpf or openEXR render output. I'm having the hardest time getting it to work.

Thanks!

fume fx not letting 3ds exit cleanly
Posted by: Chris Pember - 09-04-2008, 01:12 PM - Forum: FumeFX & NodeWorks [max] - Replies (3)

Hi guys,

We're doing some debugging with max here with autodesk (on something totally unrelated to this), and we noticed on a vanilla max install (2008-64bit in this case, 32bit exits cleanly) max exits cleanly. Add fumefx (latest version) and max hangs on exit (the app disappears, but the process hangs in memory). We just wanted to see if there was a known issue with this Smile

tks!

  FumeFx Follow, PFlow
Posted by: Grury - 09-03-2008, 08:07 AM - Forum: FumeFX & NodeWorks [max] - Replies (12)

I was wondering if anyone figured out a way to have an animatable influence on the FumeFx Follow Op.
Although it does create keyframes when I change the Velocity Multiplier or Influence values, it changes the values globally for all the keyframes.

Also whenever I try to use a Age Test or Delete by Particle Age Max totally crashes.

I'm working with Max 2008, have this bugs being fixed in 2009??

Thanks,

Carlos

  FumeFX and Vray
Posted by: fkkcloud - 08-29-2008, 11:26 PM - Forum: FumeFX & NodeWorks [max] - Replies (4)

Hi, all.

I have the default Matte/Shadow Material which come with max 2008 and assigned to an object.

I turned on Atmosphere render and turned off the receive/affect alpha and reflection because I dont need them.

I rendered with Vray and the problem is that when I rendered without FumeFX, it rendered correctly which means

the object did not get alpha, but when I rendered with FumeFX, the object got alpha which means it rendered the matte black with alpha value of 1.

What is wrong with it..?

Thanks,

-j

is there any way to change the fume presets folder?
Posted by: Chris Pember - 08-28-2008, 08:12 PM - Forum: FumeFX & NodeWorks [max] - Replies (7)

just like the title says.. is there any way to change this path to whatever I want?

here's the reason: we synch everything here with custom software and cvs, however, the presets happen to be in the same dir as the fume DLO, and when the machine synchs (it's doing a diff on dirs) and sees all these new presets... it blows them away cause they're not in the synch itself. A custom preset path would rule all, as I could keep all the 30 presets i had Smile

tks!!

(psd, if this exists already, I'd love to know where it is Tongue

  explode.cpp

We render with dreamscape and vray. On several scenes we have an error "explode.cpp # 2391" only on our network 8-core machines? The 4 core machines are rendering all the time. We need your help!

  Dreamscape lag when opened
Posted by: ubiteamc - 08-27-2008, 06:20 PM - Forum: DreamScape - Replies (3)

Hi,

Having this issue. Have 2 floating licenses running on a license server. When I access Dreamscape from Max, it freezes for 8 to 10 seconds then it opens. We're using DCPFLICS ver 1.0. Already tried to install it on another server.

Any ideas?

Thx

FFX simlulation license installer for Max2009x64???
Posted by: Filip Kaczorek - 08-27-2008, 01:06 PM - Forum: FumeFX & NodeWorks [max] - Replies (4)

Like the title says.
I downloaded the installer from the members area, when run it told me that a proper version of Max 2008x64 was not found,, doooh.
When I continued it insisted on installing into .../Autodesk/3dsmax2008/
Is this definitely the proper installer for Max2009?
