FumeFx Follow, PFlow
#1
I was wondering if anyone figured out a way to have an animatable influence on the FumeFx Follow Op.
Although it does create keyframes when I change the Velocity Multiplier or Influence values, it changes the values globally for all the keyframes.

Also whenever I try to use a Age Test or Delete by Particle Age Max totally crashes.

I'm working with Max 2008, have this bugs being fixed in 2009??

Thanks,

Carlos

Hello,

If you can post a file, it would be easier to tell what is going wrong.

Thank you.

This seems like some user interface refresh issue. If you animate values, and them close and reopen PF,
you will see that values are changing when you scrub the time slider.
This bug will be fixed for next update.

This works fine here. Even if I add delete operator inside Event02, it deletes particles without crash.

actually I've seen it here as well.. enable the delete option and it throws an assert error (next time i try it I'll jot down where) I'm not sure if it's a pflow or a fume issue tho. If you click the continue anyways button a couple times you can keep working.

Its very strange.

@Kresimir: What Max version did you use? 08, 09, 32bit, 64bit.
I tested on 2 machines both using Max08 64bit and same error came up on both machines.
Stupid question: did u sim the fumefx?
The errors I'm getting are:
Assertion errors

ParticleChannelBool.cpp
Line: 540
-------------
orbaz\maxsdk9\include\bitarray.h

I'll contact Orbaz and see if can get an answer from them.

Many thanks

This was the reply I had from Oleg, from Orbaz.

Fume FX Follow operator has to be fixed. It assumes constant amount of particles in the event it is on. When particles are sent to a next event, it still tries to acquire their properies from the current particle container that does not have it.

Hey Carlos,

I posted this over at orbaz too but...

Did a quick test, I still get a channelbool error but it works... add the FumeFollow op to the global render node.
blower of smoke ..ooOO

I was on 32 bit, so maybe that was the key...
Thanks for feedback from Oleg. I will check FumeFX Follow op. and fix it for 1.2.
