Hi guys,
Have emailed a couple times. Thought I'd try on the forum. Would you be able to provide the license for the auth .txt file sent? Thanks so much! Deadlines, deadlines.

Hello,
We've installed Fume5 for 2018 and there don't seem to be help files installed into Max. Has this been deprecated in version 5 in favor of redirecting to the website's manual?
Thanks

Fume/Aburn void helper

Normally I'd put this in the Afterburn forum, but it seems to mostly affect my fume sims... Would it be possible to provide an AFC for the void daemon? It seems often to get a good fade on the Fume box, I need to duplicate the same void several times to get the fall-off curve to even look linear. If nothing else, maybe a gamma parameter (or equivalent). Any tips on workarounds are welcome of course - maybe something I haven't thought of. Thanks!

fume5 - wavelet+retime, ram usage

Just wondering if this will use 2x as much ram as WT alone.
I think in v4, retiming pass always required about 2x the ram for my sims, so anything a given node could WT sim would need about half the ram reserved if I was planning on doing a final RT pass on it. It's great that WT+RT can be done in one step in fume5 - just curious if ram usage is still double with RT active or if somehow the sim engine only needs close to the same ram needs as the WT process.
Thanks!

Fume5 order form - server error

I also emailed privately - thought I'd put on forum also.
Filled out order form and tried to submit on both Firefox and Chrome - 500 internal server error at final page. Could send payment via Paypal if that works - this is an upgrade from v4 purchase.
Thanks much.

Hello
I'm getting mad with a scene.
Here's our setup : 3dsmax 2017, fumeFX 4.1.1 & licence server
I'm trying to merge a fumeFX into a lighting scene and i constantly crash, while my both scenes worked correctly on each side.
I've try a lot of things trying to make it work, and i finally found out that my scene can be merge & saved on windows 7.
I'm pretty sure fumeFX is not manage the same way on windows 10 than 7, but i don't know why.
I've checked all my firewall or folders permissions..... don't know where to check anymore
Any ideas please ?
Thanks !

PostSim doesn't work - FumeFX 4

Hello, I am trying to make a simple maxscript which would launch wavelet simulation after the default sim is done. I figured I could use PostSim event to launch Wavelet sim. Unfortunately, it seems that PostSim does't work? Simply printing messages from PostStep work properly but I can't get any code running from within PostSim function. Am I missing anything?
This is my debug code for checking if PostSim works:
Code: fn PostSim = (
print "PostSim"
)
But like I mentioned earlier, I am not getting any results.

Dell T5500 2.66ghz faster than T7500 3.46ghz

Anyone run into this when comparing the same sim on a slower vs 'supposedly' faster box? Here are the details....
Sim file is identical. 3ds max 2015. FumeFX 4.1.1. Machine A is spec'd slower but sims faster (exponentially as more ram is used). Regular rendering is as expected comparing machine specs (T7500 about 25-30% faster). All bios settings are the same, write to comparable drives, and have Avast AV installed but disabled for sim. The boxes..
Machine A:
Dell T5500
2 x 6core @ 2.66ghz Xeon 5650
72GB ram
Windows 7 x64, installed years ago but updates not run since 2017-ish and sporadically chosen
DirectX 9 (if this even matters)
Machine B:
Dell T7500
2 x 6core @3.47ghz Xeon 5690
Windows 7 x64, fresh install, all updates applied
192GB ram
DirectX 11
One of the primary goals with the T7500 was to make use of the ram to do extreme detail at 4k (not looking for optimization tips or how much ram you are able to get away with - thx though . We can max out the T5500's 72GB without a problem on detailed mushroom sims. Enter, the T7500 - but it chokes badly when it's nearing 110GB of ram usage during WT. Haven't pushed it during default simming yet.
I'm wondering if the slightly differing Win7's have anything to do with it.
Thanks in advance!

FFX Convert tool

Does anyone else have any issues with the FFX conversion tool with Windows 10, any edition. I just get crashes, attached an image. Works fine with our Windows 7 machines, but any of our Win 10, crash. At home on my Windows 10, latest updates and version, same crashes. I have a really old version of the tool from 2016 sometime that does work, but it has a lot less options. I've tired running in compatibility modes, UAC is off on the machine, I've tried running the shell as Administrator, as normal. No dice.
Do I need a specific .Net redist installed for this to work? Any idea?
Thanks!
