  P_flow fume follow operator
Posted by: superhypersam - 01-03-2007, 06:02 AM - Forum: FumeFX [max] - Replies (4)

I have not been able to get any results from the P_flow fume follow operator.

I have tried with several different Fume sims, including tutorial files.

I have used the fume follow to replace a speed operator.

Also Tried a age test which outputed to an event with just a fume follow op.

The only result are stationary parts.

If any one has a example max file would love to see it.

cheers

  Installation problems

Hi

I've just sent TS a note re problems I'm having with the installer. Maybe someone here can help me - any help would be most welcome (and yes, I know I've probably done something really dumb

I've run the installer script and loaded max, but I get error messages as follows:

"DLL failed to initialize. Error code: 126 - The specified module could not be found

and similar for FumeFX.dlo, FumeFX_PF.dlo, FumeFX_TP.dlo and Afterworks.dlu

I’ve tried adding the various paths through Customise > Configure System Paths > 3rd Party Plugins, with paths to the plugins root folder, afterworks, afterworks > FumeFX and afterworks > Common, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference, and the FumeFX tools don’t appear in max

Cheers
Neil

  I have a question
Posted by: visualchaosfx - 12-23-2006, 03:22 AM - Forum: FumeFX [max] - Replies (8)

I'm doing a test with a sphere. What I have done was I created a ground plane and a sphere that is positioned above the ground plane. I used reactor to have the ball bounce on the ground plane and then roll of the plane. I have FumeFX applied to the sphere and I'm currently simulating. Its a 200 frame animation. I have the quality set at 5 and the maximum iterations at 500. At its current settings the simulation will take about 6 hrs to do

Now if I set the quality setting to like 2 and the max iterations at 200, obviously the sim will be somewhat faster. So I changed my settings to that and then simulated it.

Is there anyway of speeding up the simulations without sacrificing the quality look of the fire?

Sitni Sati is proud to announce the release of FumeFX, the first commercially available gaseous fluid dynamics simulator for 3ds Max.

FumeFX is a powerful fluid dynamics engine designed for the simulation and rendering of realistic fire, smoke, explosion, and other gaseous phenomena. It’s versatility, robustness, and intuitive workflow make it a perfect solution for even the most demanding tasks in the computer graphics industry.

This groundbreaking plug-in has already been production proven in titles such as Superman Returns and The Host (Gwoemul). And now, FumeFX is released through Turbo Squid as part of the exclusive Autodesk Certified Animation Plug-in Program.

Just a quick one to say congrats on fume FX - it looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to using it in the next few days - it'll be going straight into a guinness commercial in January. It's probably not a major thing for me straight away but how well does it work with Vray or has it been tested so far?
