Hi,
I could have sworn I didn't need to do anything special in Max 2009 to get FFX to render in mental ray, but in 2010 it doesn't want to know - has something changed or am I mistaken?
Thanks,
Steve
Nothing didn't change if you're rendering locally.
It doesn't work for you at all ?

Nope, I get an error in the mr dialogue, Fusionworks Renderer is not supported - the fusionworks renderer is listed as v1.1 is that the correct one?
Thanks,
Steve
You get this error message, but mental ray will render FumeFX.
Fusionworks isn't needed for mental ray rendering.

Hi,
no, it still doesn't render - in scanline it's fine, but in mental ray it simply doesn't appear - are there any specific settings I need to change for it to work with mr? Atmospherics are checked on.
Thanks,
Steve
It's hard to tell as it works fine here.
Anyone else ?

Seems to work now - weird...
One other thing though - are the manual installs the latest version? I installed the latest automatic builds, but ran into the problem where you need to install 32 and 64bit versions together, so I installed the manual build and was getting an error with FumeFXPF.dlo failing to initialize.
I noticed that the readme for the install doesn't mention the FumeFX_PF.dlo being installed in the optional folder, yet that was the location it was looking for - so I tried copying it manually and the date was different.
Thanks,
Steve
Hello Steve,
Inside plugin.ini do you have AfterworksOptional listed AfterWorksCommon and Afterworks folders.
Since you did manual install, maybe you didn't copy those lines in the same order ?
