Fumefx Production Settings
#1
I was given a Smoke file from someone else for a production.
I'm not very experienced with Fume and need to get results quickly.
After trying to simulate the file, the render time was around 15 hours.
I know from other shots in the production that this is much too long.
What are settings that I can adjust that will produce quality simulations but not eat up so much sim time?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I doubt the settings in Fume result in longer render times - fume actually renders quite fast, especially fire.
Do you have any other objects in your scene? I know from experience that if you have a FFX sim reflecting or refracting in non glossy objects - that will make your render times grow very fast Sad

If you are wanting to reduce the simulation time, turn iterations down to 100, and turn the spacing to something larger. You are trying to make 21GB .fdx files... which are massive, and take a long time to calculate.
