keying smoke amount -> Fatal Error Maya 2013/14
#1
Hi,

I'm emitting only smoke from a particle source (standard maya volume emitter) for a couple of frames. I want to stop emitting in frame 10 but keying the smoke amount value down to zero maya crashes with a fatal error. I tried this twice in maya 2013 and also one time in 2014. It is always crashing after keying the value to zero.

Okay further more ... creating a grid and a particle source keying any value -> crash !

radius -> keyable
valocity mult -> crash
smoke amount -> crash
smoke variance -> keyable

Thanks for your help.

I believe this is known with particle sources (and many of it's parameters). I think the next drop we get (for maya) will have it fixed.
There are several workarounds-but the easiest for me is to key the parameter in the 'Channel box' interface.
Once its keyed-its yours to do as you like. It seems to be the 'Attribute Editor' only that gets the bug from what i can see. So 'any other method' to set a keyframe works as expected.

Hello,

FumeFX 3.5.3 has this issue fixed.
We're should wrap it up by the end of the month.
Right now we're finishing adding the MEL and Python support (similar to 3ds max MXS support).
