A longtime Afterworks customer here; own most of your products. I am curious about all the recent releases of updates for the Fume for Maya that include many new features. Not saying that the Maya users shouldn't get new features, but can you let us know about your intentions for Max development. Are we to expect all of the future development to follow this pattern? I'm sure that many of your Max customers would like to know that any feature added to Fume on the Maya side also gets added to the Max side.
I really just want to get an idea of the future roadmap. Not moving to Maya ever... but of course I am hoping that Max will always be at the core of Afterworks tech.
Hello Shawn,
I'm not sure about features you're mentioning that were added to Maya version and does not exists in 3ds max. All the core features are more-less the same.
We're now developing FumeFX on various platforms - some features are developed on 3ds max, other on Maya/Win or Maya/Lin, but they all end up on both packages. FumeFX development is going strong and I'm sure that the next verion will be a favorite release for many users.
Thank you.

Thanks for that input. It was really late when I asked the question. Mainly I came onto Afterworks like I habitually do every month or so and the front page has many posts on Maya updates but only minor bug fixes in Max side. In terms of features, there is the example of this thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1642 were a function is listed for Maya only in the current version of Fume but not Max. It seems a little odd that Max users would have to wait for a paid update for a function that is in the current Fume (for Maya).
Since I'm not familiar with the Maya implementation, I'm not ever sure if it's something I'm missing. But like many Max users, it's a little frustrating to see focus get taken off of Max development or general promotion of Maya over Max in the last couple of years across many sites and developers. I don't enjoy it because I know that some things can create self-reinforcing feedback loops--and I want to see movement more towards Max than Maya.
I'm sure it goes both ways. Maybe there are features in the Max version not in the Maya version.
I just feel it's important to share concerns when we have them.
I'm looking forward to whatever you do cook up for Fume 4, as I'm sure it will kick ass.
That littel feature was there as Luma pictures have added it from the start and we left it in the release version.
If you go through the list of FumeFX for Maya updates, it is about bug fixes.
We treat both 3ds max and Maya equally and there will be no preferences of 3ds max over Maya or vice versa.
Thank you for your thoughts.

Hello,
No problems and thank you for been a long time user of our products !
I just wanted to say that we do not make any differences between platforms - Maya version was the first release and thus more issues and bug fixes we had to solve and it took a bit more of our resources. This might get the impression that we've neglected 3ds max, but it's not so as we've regularly released bug fixes for it as well.
