FumeFX Preview bugs + Channel Shader
#1
I have collected a few minor bugs in the FumeFX GPU Preview window Smile

- Often times, it won't display multiple lights in the preview. It will only show the first one created, forcing you to do a testrender to see how the second light interact with the sim.

- The preview doesn't update when you change shading parameters. You have to restart the preview window every time you make an adjustment.

Ps. Where is the option to change the volume shader in order to use the channel data?

Thank you for a great product. Smile

Hi,
as described in Preview section of FumeFX Help, GPU Preview can so far calculate shadows of only one light connected to FumeFX node.

Channel shader is not supported in FumeFX for Maya. It is supported only in FumeFX for Max with Default Scanline Renderer. Since it isn't supported by any other renderer, it isn't implemented in Maya.

Can you please tell us more about bug with updating shading parameters and refreshing? Does it happen with all parameters? Does preview refresh properly when you select "Refresh" option on preview window?

Thanks,
Josip

It will not update any of my shading parameters in the preview. Not if I change opacity, color or falloff attributes. It will still only update if I restart the preview window

I found the bug to appear when making larger simulations while using maps for emission. The preview window updates fine with a standard setup (Standard Grid with a simple source).

The refresh button doesn't seem to do anything. I've tried turning off and on automatic update, but there's no effect. - I'm using Maya 2015, if that's of any help.

- Thank you for your help. It's not that serious of a problem. Shading just takes a little while longer Smile
