Please check if you have MAXON Cinema 4D R21\plugins\FumeFXArnold dir with "FumeFXArnold.xlib" and "res" dir.

​Also check if there is MAXON Cinema 4D R21\plugins\C4DtoA\procedurals\FumeFXShader.dylib.
​
​If you don't have these files then run separate installer on Mac for Arnold support for Cinema 4D (screenshot below).
