Max2010 x64 - no TP plugin

I checked Optional during installation but in the optional folder there is only the PF plugin - the installer didn't install the TP plugin.
I already have TP installed.
1. Could someone confirm it - maybe there is an error in the installer.
2. Could someone email me just the TP plugin file to kaczorefxwp.pl - I don't want to go through installation again

Helpfile Maxscript Example Corrections

I noticed two examples from the help file which were not working when used. Here are my fixed recommendations..
EXAMPLE: FumeFX MAXScript Functions for Accessing the Simulation
Code: fn PostObjects = (
for i in 0 to (nx - 1) do
for j in 0 to (ny - 1) do
for k in 0 to (nz - 1) do
SetSmoke i j k k/nz
)
Variables k and nz are integers, so dividing k/nz will always result in 0 in maxscript. A fix would be is to convert one of them to a float type, or just multiply one of them to 1.0.
FIX:
Code: fn PostObjects =
(
for i in 0 to (nx - 1) do
(
for j in 0 to (ny - 1) do
(
for k in 0 to (nz - 1) do
(
val = k/(nz as float) -- fix
SetSmoke i j k val
)
)
)
)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXAMPLE: More Channel Functions
Code: fn PostLoad = (
sm = 1.0 -- desired minimum smoke value
for i in 0 to (voxels-1) do
(
s = GetSmokeByIndex
if (s < sm) then ( SetSmokeByIndex sm )
)
)
The index input required by the functions GetSmokeByIndex and SetSmokeByIndex was not set.
FIX:
Code: fn PostLoad =
(
sm = 1.0 -- desired minimum smoke value
for i in 0 to (voxels-1) do
(
s = GetSmokeByIndex i
if (s < sm) then ( SetSmokeByIndex i sm )
)
)
I also changed the recommended code format as it is more maxscript-centric.

slow loading of ffx data

Hey,
I'm rendering out a very high detailed sim (as needs be) but after a while it takes an astonishingly long time to load a frame of ffx data .
Each frame is around 1.5gb (apart from earlier in the solve) but while loading the data the ram usage according to the task manager picks up and drops (like sawtooth visually) . At the moment each frame is taking in excess of 8 minutes to load before the render actually starts to happen .
The sequence is 100 frames, but gets stuck at the 50f mark, at which point it has already read at least 30 frames all well over 1gb in size .
My system should be up for this task, it is a Core i7 2.79ghz with 12gb ram . At time of rendering the system ram usage reached under 5gb from 3gb before committing render . However the physical memory used according to max increases but never seems to drop unlike what the resource monitor in windows vista is reporting . The drive it is reading the data is a pretty decent sata2 .
Any ideas where I'm going wrong ? Would a faster HDD, or even a solid state one even help?
Thanks

Licensing Sim Nodes on Deadline Renderfarm

We would like to submit Sim's to the farm.
We are using Deadline 3.1, Max 2008, FumeFX 1.0a
How do you install the simulation license server and licenses on the render nodes?
Once that is setup correctly am I correct in my understanding that you just sumbit a non-saved frame to get the simulation to calculate?
Many thanks!

solid cloud colors

I'm trying to replicate a look like this:
http://cache4.asset-cache.net/xc/sb1006 ... 0B0D811297
but every time I render, no matter what I change, the clouds come out REALLY solid. There isn't any opaticy to the edges, you don't see "bumps" on the top of the clouds, just a solid color. I've changed the regularity of the shape, the density of the noise, but all I get is a REALLY solid cloud.
Any suggestions?
