hmm i guess that makes sense. The sim becomes more senstive with higher settings. I tihnk im going to stick to quality 1 for all my smoke only shots. its very whispy and light, so i doubt it will be an issue.
I have a hunch that that vorticity might be the culprite. Im animating it from 0 to 1, but quite quickly, maybe i should slow that down, and only bring it up nearer the end.
