help with DS engine - mcvltd - 11-02-2006 Can anybody offer some help with setting up a DS engine on my boat? I thought it was going to be really simple - step1) add DS engine to scene step2) position DS engine underwater and to the rear of the boat step3) link DS engine to boat (boat is using DS dynamics for motion) step4) alter 'force' parameter to suit velocity ...but.... nothing happens. Have I missed a step... like 'start engine'? Thanks in advance, Rob. - sitnisati - 11-02-2006 Hello, It is hard to tell... I suggest you to enter to the members area. Under the 'Learn' section get DreamScape example files with boat and engine and check for a proper setup. Kresimir - mcvltd - 11-02-2006 Kresimir, Have done that already and have looked at the scene setup but can't see anything majorly different to mine. Can I email you the scene if I haven't sorted the porblem by the end of the day? Rob. - sitnisati - 11-02-2006 Sure. Please send me a scene and I'll take a look at it. Did you try to increase Engine Force? Kresimir - mcvltd - 11-02-2006 Yes, I started with 400 then went up to 200000. - mcvltd - 11-02-2006 Ah, just found the problem. My force was still a 'scene' force rather than an 'object' force. I just swapped it over using the 'select forces' button. I guess that all newly created forces are 'scene' forces and you have to go in and manually change their status? Rob. - sitnisati - 11-03-2006 Yes. You need to pick Engine SW from inside Dynamics as otherwise it 'does not know' which one to use. |
