I was wondering if it was possible to make fumefx particles/emitters from real flow meshes?

Yes it works but you have to cache and stitch it to an alembic format then load it back into c4d and use it as an object source...you can also use the emitter particles to drive the simulation.

I’d be interested in seeing how that functions. I know realflow and turbulenceFD work really well together, I may have to run some tests.
