particles vs nparticles - vuvey - 03-26-2016 hey, I noticed that you don't need to cache your particles in order for fume to show them, but you need to cache your nparticles.. otherwise the fume particle source won't show/use them.. is this a bug? thx Re: particles vs nparticles - petkovic - 03-26-2016 no its not a bug, that just the way that things works with nParticles... cheers Re: particles vs nparticles - vuvey - 03-27-2016 meaning, they have to be chached in order to work? but standard particles not? thx Re: particles vs nparticles - petkovic - 03-28-2016 yes, you must cache them if you wanna to see the radius, with regular particles fume works without caching, that's why in 99% i use regular particles ![]() cheers Re: particles vs nparticles - vuvey - 03-28-2016 i got that.. was just wondering, if it may come some time.. or that's just the way it is ![]() its actually not bad to chache the particles, so they don't change.. its not really a problem.. just wanted to know, if it may come.. Re: particles vs nparticles - sitnisati - 03-29-2016 Hello, FumeFX does not make difference between those two particle systems - it sees both systems as particles. It must be something internal in nparticles that requires caching. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: particles vs nparticles - vuvey - 03-29-2016 good to know.. thx.. Re: particles vs nparticles - sitnisati - 03-30-2016 You're welcome. Re: particles vs nparticles - dre4mer - 05-03-2016 It just took me about an hour to figure out that legacy particles worked and nparticles didn't without caching to bad I hadn't found this thread before that... it's a fairly important detail as it just appears that it doesnt' work at all.
