Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - fabiomsilva - 11-10-2015 ok so there's a couple of issues. i did a sim at the origin in max, and when bringing it to houdini it always gives it a weird offset. secondly, the sims jitter in houdini(the volume is shifting positions). i tried disabling adaptive grid in my fumesim and it seems to improve it a little bit but this is very annoying. - note this happens in the viewport, not just at render time. anyone has any solutions for these issues? thank you Fabio ps: disabling adaptive grid seems really to have an impact. but its painfully slow by disabling it Re: Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - sitnisati - 11-13-2015 Hello, Thank you for report - we will look into this and hopefully fix for FumeFX 4.0.1 update. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - avivbarami - 12-31-2015 Unfortunately the Houdini offsets thing still happens in 4.0.1. After importing the openVDB sequence there are strange offsets that happen (it's as if the VDB grid optimization if messing with how Fume builds the voxels). You don't get those offsets if you use V-Ray's volume grid object to load the VDBs. I can send an example of the issue if you need one. This is very important for our pipeline, so your response will be appreciated. Re: Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - sitnisati - 01-05-2016 Hello, Thank you for the report and we would really appreciate if you can attach a simple scene so that we can repro this issue (so far it worked for us). Best regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - avivbarami - 01-10-2016 Hi Kresimir, I've attached a VDB sequence (0-15) that I cached from Houdini, and a flipbook from Houdini that shows how still the chest area is compared to how FFX reads it. I did nothing but load it straight into Fume as a smoke, but if you need the scene, I can provide that too. Here's the link (I couldn't squeeze it into 2 mb, sorry): http://we.tl/NTRuyrpJa7 Re: Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - sitnisati - 01-11-2016 Hello, Thank you for the caches. We can see this offset and will correct it for FumeFX 4.0.2. update. Best regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: Fume4 open vdb to houdini insane ammount of jitter - avivbarami - 01-12-2016 That's good to know, hope to see it soon. Thanks. |
