FumeFX Particle Emitter issues - rconover - 04-24-2014 Very similar issues to that of the particle follow logged earlier this week: 1) Caches - 'ffxParticle1' seems to be a regular particle system. So I do a Solvers>Create Particle Disk Cache I get a 'sorta result' which is not correct compared to what the original playback is. I get different results depending on where in the timeline I start the cache from. So maya render batch aka rendering a sequence-is an issue. 2) Refresh if Fume Grid hidden. Playback of particles turns 'dead' if you simply hide the dependent Fume grid. Which has me asking-if i wanted to render the result (independently of the FumeFX) i wonder if i could as it stands (in 3.5.2). -I cannot cache it (properly). -i cannot isolate it (for rendering) from the dependent fume grid. Could FumeFX Particle Emitter generate an *nparticle* result instead? I think the cacheing might work better. Easier to manage in a scene too (Maya's legacy particle cacheing is a bit *idiotic* as soon as you have need of multiple particle FX in a given scene). Re: FumeFX Particle Emitter issues - sitnisati - 05-12-2014 Hello, The solution under 1) is to go solvers->Memory Cache Enable, select Particle Shape and under General control attributes select "Cache Data". Then, click on the play button in Maya so that particle go through all the frames to create cache in memory (you can do a few runs until all the frames are stored inside the memory). After that go to solver->Create Particle Disk Cache and cache to disk. After it's done, memory caching can be disabled. I hope this works for you. Regards, Kresimir Tkalcec Re: FumeFX Particle Emitter issues - radobe - 10-24-2014 Hello, i have big difficulties getting my particles to cache properly in memory. Nparticles are not something i would like to use instead, since they are more problematic when it comes to motionblur. Particles are evaluated inbetween cached frames, whereas nparticles are not. Is there any chance of fixing the caching process without having to cache the particles in memory before? Thanks Radoslaw Re: FumeFX Particle Emitter issues - sitnisati - 10-27-2014 Hello, We will try to fix this for the FumeFX for Maya ver 3.5.6 update (no release date yet). Thank you.
