Burning fuse ???

Has anyone been able to get the effect like the link below of smoke trails like pieces flying off a burning fuse. I have been tring to use particle flow with not much luck.

should be pretty easy, set up particle flow and render it with a glow, then use the same pflow system to emit smoke in FumeFX
