steps for rendering z-depth
#1
Hi,

I was wondering if someone could break down the workflow for rendering out a scene with z-depth data within an rpf or openEXR render output. I'm having the hardest time getting it to work.

Thanks!

AB 4.0 use the Fusionworks Z depth render element. Then comp it.

In the fushioworks renderer, do I just check off the create channels box?

Because I've tried that, and is still doesn't work. What are the exact steps to render out z-depth data? A step-by-step breakdown would be awesome.

Thanks!

No, no, simply just add the "render element" Fusionworks Z-Depth (in the render dialog>render elements), it will render out a separate pass with your z-depth information. Use this pass in your compositor as your depth channel.

Youll have to premultiply it in comp but yep thats pretty much it..
