You choose the .f3d file format from the save dialog.

In which tab is the SAVE DIALOG ?

when you click on icon for cache location, in file browser at the bottom you should find the extensions drop down list, where you will find all 3 formats

Just a thought, since the built in FFX format has some benefits over the other, could we get some sort of a converter?
Let's say I already have a large sim that I like, and I want to export it to Open VDB or Field3D. I don't wnt to resim everything cause that might take a couple of days even.
Would be nice to also have an option to export the current sim to a different format.
Would Post sim do that for us - no optimalisation just a different format for the post simulation?

Hello,

Yes, with the Post Processing (retime disabled) you can convert caches to other format.
