FumeFX & Post Processing stutter
#1
I have run into an issue with a scene where I am trying to retime a smoke simulation and the resulting cache causes the animation to 'stutter'. I have searched and asked around and it seems to be hit or miss when it comes to solving this issue. The scene isn't anything special, just some rolling smoke with a constant timescale. Simulations steps are set to 1.0. I have tried retiming with values of 0.35, 0.4, and 0.5, and even starting the scene from scratch with no luck. I was wondering if there are any tricks that may help solving this issue.

Thank you

Hello,

Could you please send us the scene and/or animation so we can reproduce it ?

Thank you.

I am curious if there are any conclusions over that particular problem/scene?

I am interested too, I tried most of the solutions suggested, but any value below 0.25 gives stutter, unlike in Phoenix FD where you can go really low in time scale without any stutter at all.

Hello,

We haven't received any scene, so it's impossible to tell what went wrong.
Smoke retiming with one simulation step should retime without flickering at ay time scale.
