GPU Never Works in Preview
#1
GPU preview is unusable for me. I attached a screenshot of it.

No problem with CPU preview though.

I have it set up to use my GTX 970.

My screens are plugged into a 660.

Hi Roenne,
could you tell which FumeFX version and which version of Windows OS you use? Does this happens even on simplest scenes with FumeFX?

Also, make sure you have latest drivers installed for your graphics card.
We used to have problems with some GPU/drivers combinations, but there was never a similar report where picture was drawn, but with artifacts as yours.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Nvidia Driver version 364.72 and latest CUDA
-GTX 660
-GTX 970

3dsmax 2016 (latest service pack)

Fume FX 4.0.4

A quick test show it works for normal sized scenes. My sims are clouds that are tens of thousands of feet wide. CPU Preview works fine. I have small detail planes flying through the clouds so I can't change my units settings to compensate.

I posted this scene in an earlier thread about a crash I was having. This scene also causes the glitchy gpu preview as seen in my original post.

EDIT: I wanted to add that sometimes when switching to gpu preview rather than displaying the glitchy image it sometimes says Frames Missing.

Thanks for the report.

We will try to fix this as soon as possible.
