fume acap9 installing along with acap2009
#1
hello, i have fume for max 2009 installed on my machine.

i recently received my copy of max 9 from autodesk and am trying to install fume for that.

only every time i run the "FumeFX 1.1 FULL (64-bit) ACAP9.exe" it goes into modify/repair/uninstall mode even thought the plugin does not exist in the max folder structure.

the installer never asks for a dir. it just goes directly into the mod.

any ideas?

I can confirm this, I thought I was crazy, I was doing a bunch of install/uninstalls trying to get AB 3.2 to work and came across this, but I had been moving so much stuff around I wasn't sure if it was just me.

You have to uninstall it for 2009, then install max9, then reinstall max2009.

Hello,

TurboSquid does all the installs and I have forwarded your question to them.
They've been pretty busy for Siggraph in a past week.

jejozwik,

As jrand states, the easiest way to circumvent this issue is to install the Max9 version of FumeFX before installing the Max2009 version. If this does not resolve your issue you can contact mailtoConfusedupport@turbosquid.com and, in your ticket, ask to be directed to me.

FYI the modify/repair in the FumFX11 2008 installer is screwed up too, directs to max 2009
