afterburn 4.0b installation issue - license does not exist

Have run into this before with both fumefx and afterburn. Seems random, however this time we have not been able to get it working.

Windows XP 64bit
3dsmax 64bit
Internet explorer
numerous reboots
firewall/av disabled

Either via manual method or via TS interface, prompts are followed and continually:
[localhost] Trying to connect...
[localhost] License does not exist

Please advise. Thx very much.
