Viewport Display Slow... just me?
#5
I have tried, and almost always Direct3d is much more usable than opengl for me. Opengl acceleration hasn't been changed in a while either, whereas direct3d is what autodesk has focused their efforts on improving.

..on another note (fume related) in max9,32 if i use d3d max will crash if i do too much with moving windows around / opening / closing preview window and stuff (confirmed on more than just my machine) max9 64 works fine however. (which i tend to use anyway)

Software mode with just particles is friggin sweet though when drawing as dots! Big Grin OGL and D3D seem to keep up now with larger particle counts where software used to be faster (with just dots!)

--confirmed with psychosilence -- he says its way slower in 2008 than in max9
