wow...just a bit off topic. My answer would be that you WOULD under these conditions:
1) The relationship has been on for a very long time, and is at a high level of 'seriousness', and more importantly
2) The girlfriend in question has children. No kids, no M-Day gift - otherwise you dilute the meaning of the holiday.
A better answer (assuming #2 is true) might be to shop with her kids for a gift from all of you.
Perhaps the gift of billowing smoke and searing flame? (there, now it's back on topic)
