Video tutorials
#2
Hello,
nice to hear that you will post new tutorials. I'm really looking forward to them because the videos that ship with the product and the printed tuts in the FumeFX documentation only cover the basics. I know that christmas is over but here is my "wishlist":
1) What I would like to learn more about is the "fuel simulation" - when and how to use it and more practical and in-depth information about the parameters (ignition temperature, heat production etc.).
2) The sample videos on your homepage and the "corridorv2.avi" from Turbosquid are quite impressive. Some Making-of video tuts would be nice. (By the way: the flames in the "corridorv2"-video seem to illuminate the environment - is this "fake" or is there actually a way to illuminate the scene without "external" lights just with the fire sim?)
3) How is it possible to simulate spreading fire with FumeFX? With the "phoenix" plugin for example you could do this by simply moving or scaling the fire gizmo. This is not possible with FumeFX - moving or scaling the gizmo leads to unpredictable results. I suppose this "quick and dirty" trick does not work due to the nature of FumeFX being a real physics simulation. So I would like to learn how to do it with FumeFX in a "physically correct" way.
Of course I could extend this wishlist further but I don't want to be too immodest :-))
So that's it for now.
Thanks and kind regards!
Matthias
P.S.: FumeFX really IS cool! Good work! (My first realistic fire set up in just a few minutes and rendered in a few more minutes on my simple single computer - I still cannot believe it.)
