Maxscript buttons greyed out

Hi!
I wanted to get my hands in the MaxScript-functionality to influence the simulation itself. But both the checkbox and the "Edit"-button in the general tab are greyed out. I'm working with version 4.0.4 on Max 2015. Did I miss some other button that enables MaxScripting?
