I seem to be having a tough time rendering with Mental Ray. I did some searching on this forum and it looks like Mental RAy is NOT supported, but that it was in the work queue to resolve that or not that important. Some of the posts stating this were much older. So I am guessing that Mental Ray will be supported soon?
If it already is supported, then how do I keep this error from happening?
"MSG 0.0 error: Atmospheric "FusionWorks Renderer" is not supported."
Thanks in advance!
lol.. ur a mental ray user ?
U must have remarked that Mental Ray requires A Shader Equivalent for EVERYTHING that it wanna renders to translate to his stand alone core renderer ..
So if you wanna solve that , WRite a Mental ray Shader equivalent for Fume Fx Atmospherics !! ..
I think indeed SitniSati is planning on writting one but i remember hearing that this isnt the priiority as Max have some Great third party renderers to the the trick
my 2 cents.

Here's my vote for a Mental Ray version! (or something that also works with Softimage XSI)
Softimage doesn't have a solution for fluid dynamics, you guys could own the market for this 3D software as well! The XSI community is growing really fast these days.
My vote is TOtally Fr.. Proper G buffer extract as well and 3d Mblur matted object in the smoke , amazing speed , Gi \ mtd all compatible and working , reliability and quality( superman , the host , guostrider etc..etc..) .. and tons of more stuffs !!
Hello,
Writing an atmosheric shader for Mental Ray is really like writing another plug-in at the moment. That is the reason why we are focusing more to implement good support for existing 3ds max integrated renderers like fR and VRay.
This does not mean that we are not looking into MR, but it's just not on top of our list.
