Hello,
Can someone please tell me how the altitude parameter works when using 3dsmax metric units:
1. I set the units to be metric
2. Created a Dreamscape scene and left the default cloud altitude to 2000.0m
To my knowledge this should be the height of the clouds above ground level in metres, ie. 2000m from the ground plane, ie. xyz: 0,0,0
I created a cylinder with a height of 2000m at 0,0,0 and placed my camera at the top of this, expecting the cloud cover to intersect the cylinder. Instead the render shows the top of the cylinder and the rest of the background is black. I then had to reduce the height of the camera to approx z=50m in order intersect the cloud layer.
Can someone explain why ?
