Net render with XP64 and XP32
#1
If I install XP64 or Vista X64, on my workstation, can I render with backburner on the other computer witch has only XP32 bit system.
Or does FFX need to have the same windows on every computer?
No need to simulate just rendering.

you should be fine rendering on both 32 and 64 bit system with xp64 ( i have never installed vista) .. but keep in mind ram management is horrible on 32 bit..

Kepp in mind that you might get slightly different results on 32bit systems than on 64bit.

It's adviced to not mix these. If you happen to already have a mixed environment, try to render entire jobs ONLY on 32bit systems or ONLY on 64bit systems - that should avoid flickering.

Ok, thanks, I have to think this over, or ask for an other new computer that I can use as a slave render.

You don't have to. The differences if they occur at all, are very small. Ussually in patterns in parametric textures.
They're small enough to not wory about them, but big enough to see the image flicker when one frame is rendered on x64, second on x32, third x64, fourth x32 etc....
So all you have to do is assign through BB one job entirely to the x32 mashine and another entirely to the x64 mashine Smile
