DS refractions with finalRender
#1
Hi
I'm using Dreamscape 2.5d in max2009 x64 with finalRender. I have a simple sky with clouds and a plane with an fRAdvanced material applied to it. The plane is semi-transparent and refracts, but if I put the camera under the plane I'm not seeing the DS sky at all. The colour set in the Environmet Map slot only is shown. Other objects refract fine.

Does anybody know what's happening? Is it impossible to get Dreamscape refracting through an fRAdvanced material?

Thanks
Mark

Hello,

This could be for a various reasons, so I will have to test it here.
Please let me know if you see a DS sky in fR mtl reflections ?

Hi Kresimir
I've attached a simple example made in max2009 x64.

Thanks

I think it is due to the plane object having no actual thickness.
I hid the plane and created a box with the same texture and the sky shows through.
The edge (which may also be the case with the plane) is refracting the base (black) background color.

Thanks hometime.
That definitely looks to do the trick. So DS isn't dealing properly with the double-sidedness of the fRAdvanced material.

Yeah, not sure what's going on with it.
