Evenly lit sky?
#1
I'm starting to get the hang of the Dreamscape sky, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get an evenly lit sky out of the thing. All of my skies go from blue at the horizon and around the sun to practically black when looking straight up. This is a HUGE problem as I have objects in my scene which need to be reflecting something other than black (i.e. a blue sky). I've got my clouds looking the way I want, but this darkness issue is a big one.

The skies on this web page http://www.schloerb.com/Dreamscape2/ are somehow evenly lit but I have no idea how he has accomplished this.

Can someone please steer me in the right direction or provide a MAX file that contains something that is lit evenly?

Do you possibly have your camera at an extreme height,
putting you out in space?

We deal with real-world units and actual locations for pretty much all of our jobs so my system units are set to feet and my camera is at about 2000 feet of elevation. This should still work correct?

Well, yes, It does seem it would work correctly.
After looking at the problem for a few minutes the thing I see that should help is to change the Max environment background color in the Environmental dialog (just above the Dreamscape section) to a normal sky color.
