Grid size Limit
#1
is there a grid size limit. i'm trying to do a space explosion of a fast moving ship and it always suspends after about 23frames

I was wondering if there's a grid size limit?  i have128GB RAM and the sim is only saying it is 9Gb?  I don't get it?

Hello,

That really depends on the settings.
If you have boundless option enabled, the grid can exapand beyond esitmated size.
You can send us the scene to support@afterworks.com and we will examine why it stops.

Hello,

There are several issues with the scene that should be changed.
The boundess grid is attached to the object that moves and also rotates, however the boundless grid should be stationary and the simulation will expand wherever it is needed to contain all the fields.
Simulation steps is set to 18 and you more likely don't need more than 2 as I can see in the scene.

I suggest that you make the grid stationary and boundless and lower the maxsimulation substeps to 2.
This way you will get a nice and fast simulation, but please let me know how it goes.
