Tried a different setup and got it partly work only - and some problems here as well.
1) only smoke output will do an almost ( explain that next item) correct output. Fire will return 1 for all points as soon as it hits the plane points and temperature will never show anything.
2) though smoke is working, get data and vertex map wired to smoke nodes will turn yellow ( which indicates an internal error) till about frame 38 . Thereafter everything is working correctly - rather strange.

Hello,
did you export required channels in simulation (temperature)?
Regards,
Kristian
good point. But fire is not an option that can be exported and if I try to export temperature or velocity, fume crashes while simulating with my file...

Hello,
have you tried using FumeFX Get Data node in Beta 4? We fixed this issue in Beta 4.
Best regards,
Kristian
yes, I did. Experienced a lot of crashes till I finally could sim a scene with velocity and temperature exported while expresso has been deactivated.
Then it worked fine on smoke, fire temperature and velocity I tested - but it´s hell slow in spite of efficiency view isn´t too bad ...

edit - found a reason . It is GPU viewport preview. It I disable this I can work normal again....

and here´s a little proof of concept:
Sphere is ignited by reaching enough temperature to get some XParticles emitted which are used as another source for fume fx ...

Hello,
crash happens only when you are running simulation with xpresso nodes and GPU viewport enabled? Does it still crash if simulation is already done (FumeFX loads from cache files) and you move time slider?

Kristian

no - I could not find a specific reason for these crashes. They only occur during simulation but very frequently on different frames. Once cached to the end, everything is fine.
The viewport thing is a different one. Standard setup runs fine with GPU preview enabled. But if I succeeded to cache a setup with expresso setup, my viewport alomost freezes but does not crash. Looks like Cinema is busy a lot though nothing to do but draw viewport. But if I switch this GPU viewport off, I gain normal speed in editor view again. Feels a little bit related to the problem I read that several AMD (Threadripper) users (me too) have that you have to press left mousebutton to get fluid particle simulation in viewport... AMD specific unfortunately
