Beta2 Windproblem
#1
two issues here
1) wind force will drive smoke though collider - without wind it is dense
2) wind is limited by a cubic field, so I´d expect smoke to go up from both ends as these are far away from cube field, but they still follow wind direction.

Hello,

Thanks for the scene - we wil check how can we fix this smoke leak through the boundary.
Wind will be present within the cubic field, but it will also affect the rest of the grid is a lesser extent as fluid is all connected.

thanks for explanation, so there is no possibility for sharp boundaries of influence to art direct parts of the simulation only...

I'm afraid that's not possible as the job of the fluid solver is to remove discontinuities.
Maybe try to limit the number solver iterations to 1 and see what you'd get ?

I´m quite sure there is no field support. Look at this scene.

If I have wind only, it will drive the sim to the direction wind is blowing if I use one or the other wind object.
If both winds are active, forces will delete each other and I don´t get any influence - which is working consistent .
But as I have fields for each wind direction, I´d expect the different direction of forces will pull the smoke apart, but it reacts as if forces are deleting each other, so there is no field influence at all for me...

Hello,

I sincerely apologize for confusion - it's my mistake.
We're still working to add full support for C4D particle forces and it should be ready for beta 4.

Best regards,

Hello,

Please try the new beta 4 that adds support for particle modifiers.

Thank you.

modifiers work now - but fields still fail badly.
this is a render using turbulence as a modifier :

works fine and you can see the impact.

but now I want to limit this turbulence by a field - now simulation only takes place within the field but not outside. All fume fx simulation is killed outside the field. :

I would expect modifiers being added to fume simulation but not replace it ...
