Error 5 on sim
#1
Hi,

I modified tutorial 2 by adding turbine blades to the code and having them animate. When I started the sim, I received an error code 5 and the sim stalled at that point. I have included the scene file. Hopefully it helps.

Thanks.

More information: I had to force quite Cinema after I sent this file. I then reloaded the file, and it now appears to work. You might be able to see the result if you run the sim on the file as well. This time around, it shows no error in the window.

I do have an explanation for this: I created the turbine blades from the cone emitter geometry, using a couple of deformers. I saved a copy of that result by the "Current State to Object" command, and proceeded to run the sim. However, I had neglected to disable the deformers, etc. before doing so. I think the sim had hung at that point, though I did not realize it. When I tried to run the sim again is when I noticed the error code.

Cinema continued to operate normally, though it would not let me shut it down. I had to do that via the Task Manager force quit command.

Hello,

Thank you for files, but all simulates fine here - C4D R20.
We'll try to reproduce it..

Thank you!

Once I restarted Cinema, all proceeded as expected, so I am not surprised that the file works on your end. I have seen several threads discussing hangs and restarting resolves the issue. Thank you for taking a look. I hope it helps in some fashion.
