Fix just one bug
#1
Hi,

if Afterworks could fix just one bug (or feature if you like), it would be the overlapping that occurs when using choppiness.

As I understand it, the choppiness is done to the actual mesh rather than displaced sideways and tiled, so if you look at a choppy mesh from the top, it doesn't have straight edges, and this causes artifacts/glitches where the mesh tiles.

The workaround is to render off a height map, tile it yourself and use that as a displacement map, but it would be so nice if this could be fixed in DS itself.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

You are talking about using high chopiness value and then you end up with a mesh that is all twisted up ?

Hi,

not even that high really, but yeah.

I think even when using lower values it treats the mesh the same way, it's just not noticeable in the render.

Thanks,

Steve

Hello,

I will see what be done about it as each vertex is moved independently from other vertices and shift is based on the calculated offset map.
