I have just made a simple scene with 2 maya fields,

one is gravity and one is volAxisField

to sim 200f with gravity (cone shape) took me ~30sec

with volAxisField (also shaped as cone) took me ~2.5min???

could anyone plz check this out,

i notice also that sim slows down in the moment when fluid enters the volField

here is a scene (maya 14) with 2 fields as i explained, try to simulate 1st with gravity and then try with volAxis

cheers & thx

I have same feeling. But maybe its nature of things, in Maya fluids it is also slower with volumefield.

Hello,

Because of increased velocities in the grid, it takes a bit more for FumeFX to finish, but it also takes some time for the volume field to do its computations.

You're welcome.
I hope that you will find alternative way to do that effect.

I have just notice something interesting Smile

in 3ds ver you made a spline follow!

this is exactly what i need, is there a way to implement into maya? but in v3 ver?

i would be happy even with unstable build, im so desperate atm i have a movie to finish...
thx

Hello,

Actually, the Spline Follow was develped on FumeFX 4 for Maya and ported to 3ds max.
We cannot put it in FumeFX 3, but please email me - maybe we can do something.
