FumeFX 3 dlo error in 3dsmax 2011.
#1
Hi all.

I've downloaded the manual install package and installed the dlo's from the max 2010 dir to my 2011 directories. As there is no 2011 dir in the manual install file, I'm assuming I should use the 2010 as in the past. Upon starting max, I get a Fumefx.dlo error and a Fumefx_PF.dlo error.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Well, it seems that the dlo's in the exe installer work fine. So I just grabbed those and put them in my plugin deployment. The odd thing is that the files in both seem to be the same.
There was a Direct X installer that came up during the install. Maybe there were some required updates to direct x that I didn't have. Although I do have 11 installed.

Either way, the dlo's load without error now. And some info in case someone else runs into this.

Cheers.

Hello,

Maybe you didn't copy AWUtil.dll to the 3ds max root folder ?
We will add DirectX installer to the mi file.
FumeFX 3.0.1 should go out tomorrow - few minor bug fixes and 3ds max 2013 compatibility.

Thank you.

Hi Kresimir.

The awutils.dll was copied to the max dir. I've been using the manual installation for years and haven't had any issues with it. All of the plugins were in the required directories so I'm not sure what the issue would have been.

On a side note, the max 2012 manual install worked fine.

Either way, everything is good now. Thanks.
