fumefx 5 "saving cache data failed" - finalight - 09-04-2019
Hi Kresimir,
Doing massive explosion sims and trying to do a WT pass (no retime, omit velocity) but always around the same frame when the stop/continue data needs to save a ~29GB .fdc file, it halts the sim and throws the error. Have plenty of drive space available and another 90GB of ram to spare. Are there any limits like this? Thx.

Also have tried with stop/continue data turned off so only needs to save about 2-3GB wt cache data (velocity omitted). Still stops with error. Since fallback to Fume4, sims past that point and up into the higher ram use without error.

Are you maybe using a lossy compression ?
It seems like a 32 bit bug limit in the code and we're looking at it.

After install, I didn't change anything from the defaults and I recall I was saving to .fxd files. Since I'm back on v4 currently I don't have the interface for v5 available however I did backup the folder and have the v5 ini. Here are the contents. Thanks!
