Not showing in viewport

I have 4 super sprays that are creating dust from moving vechicals, and when the "show in viewport" is selected, they show up... but then I'm trying to make a big old poofy cloud with a particle cloud, and when I create a new AfterBurn atmosphere affect, it won't show the spheres when "show in viewport" is selected.

any idea why?

AB actually creates an object in the scene (helper) - can't remmeber what it's called.
It's possible that you were on a different layer when you created AB, and now the layer is hidden.
It doesn't matter on which layer the particle system is - but the AB helper does.

Try enabling all your layers and see if that solves the problem.
