Simulation is empty
#1
Hi,

got a szene with an hugh explosion running up with a mushroom cloud. But after Frame 88 my complete Fume Grid is emty. I have no idea why. There isn't an active emitter in this szene at this moment but there should be more than enough Fire and Smoke inside. I need just the end of it when the smoke dies. I tryed to simulate a few times also with some changes in the Fume Settings but everytime after Frame 88 everything is gone. I have no idea why.

May anybody from you nows more about this effect or how to solve it. I cant Upload the szene because its from an current project. If somebody needs the Settings I can post it but there is nearly every paramter animated and in my oppinion in an normal range.

I checked also in the viewport preview for some voxels but there isn't any voxel in these frames.

The strange thing is that the Fume Sim files got an break in the size. The last working frames sim File size is about 250mb and the next 4kb. after this the last 150 frames also growing in size until 400mb. But when I checked the content I can't see anything.

Is there a way to have a look inside of these sim files?

Hello,

Most probably your system ran our of memory.
Try to increase spacing and retry simulation.

This is strange. Normaly it says that it run out of memory, or? And then it doen't simulate through or?
I tryed to increase the voxel size and it works fine. Then I turned the number back to it's original value and it simulates 30 frames more then the time before. Then I deleted the Files which are emty and restartet simulation from last state and it simulates 15 frames more then in the sim before. On this PC is only this installed nothing more that can steal ram from fume so in my opinion it's not out of memory.
What do you think.

Since today the rendering doesn't look like the times before it is completly overexposured. I have no idea why because I doen't changed anything in render or Illumination settings...
