Different settings in each emitter?

I got this scene with smoke, and some fire and all sorts of stuff in. But I dont seem to be able to make different settings for each emitter. There are only the few settings I can change on the emitter it self. When I open the fumeFX UI, I seem to change alle the settings for all the emitters in the fumefx box.
And if I make make more than 1 fumefx box with different settings, can I only render one of em.

Im still new to this, but I got this scene with an upcomming deadline on. So I havent had much time to get all the basics right yet, hope you can help.

Is there any way I can change settings on each emitter, like if one should do fire on one and another do smoke and so on?

I've asked the same question, no answer... I think you can't... fumefx was designed to make just candle flames... This is a serious problem when you want to make more than just a candle flame, but the guys from sitni sati don't bother to add this feature, even though they've just realeased a new version with no changes at all... You can make two different grids, but as I see, they will not affect eachother...

The grid controls only emitters you have listed under the obj/src tab. Selecting the individual objects gives you the setting for that object (simple source, object source, particle source) just as it would appear in the command panel. Geometry get surface type and speed multiplier. Spacewarps get source area blur on/off. You can only modify one at a time (unless they are instanced clones)

Each emitter has its own settings.

You can render multiple grids at the same time. I wouldn't recommend it, simply for the fact that when you composite your passes together you will have only one layer of control. If you render out each grid itself and render passes for fire, smoke, and z, then composite, you can tweak each individual grid and pass giving you way more control over the final look.

Many folks use different grids for different aspects. An example would be an explosion, there is usually a grid for the initial explosion element, then another for a shock wave, another for flying debris, another for the ground smolder. People seem to do a fine job with what they've got.

Yes it is to bad grids don't effect each other, then again I'm sure if there was a reasonable way to implement it they would have done it.

You should work at the basics then you would know all this stuff. Smile Take 30 minutes and go through the manual, it is well written and its not that long, you'll be better off for it Smile

qqqavi I think you should read the reference too Wink BTW Lots of people have asked about multiple grid interaction and as I mentioned earlier in this post if it was reasonable to do don't you think they would have done it already? Smile
