FumeFX communicating progress to Deadline

I am making a fumeFX submission script for deadline 3 and was wondering if there was a way to communicate the update progress of the fume sim to deadline via the DeadlineUtil.LogMessage command
I am running the net sim as a script job so i am calling $fume.simulate(), not using the $fume.BackBurnerSim property. If this matters i can change it.

ok, i figured out i can put the setprogress function in the PostStep function of the fume maxscript..

Now all I need to do is be able to access the FumeFX Maxscript via another script. Any Ideas?

Is there any way to get fume to report what frame it is up to? I was trying using currenttime, which was fine for a max in workstation mode but it doesnt seem to work when it is simming in network mode.

Hello,

At this point you cannot get current simulated frame through a max script.
I have added this to a wishlist.
