FumeFX SL on a renderfarm
#1
Ok this is what I do:
- set the simulation (when I sim it locally it renders fine through BB so all paths are ok)
- check the BB mode switch
- network rendering a single frame on a single slave
- error on that slave "FumeFx license does not exist"

Now our renderfarm:
- 8 nodes and a license server (192.168.1.9)
- DCPflics installed on license server and running
- it is probably properly setup since I managed to authorize 4 SL licenses on it from a workstation through network
- sidenote: the only licenses on license server in DCPflics are these 4 SLs - all other plugins are authorized localy on each workstation Sad
- anyway, DCPflics on the license server shows 4 SL licenses - so everything is cool here.
- on the render slave DCPFlics is installed (should it also be running?)
- slave's dcpflics.ini:

[Port]
4002
[Servers]
192.168.1.9
[Guests]
everyone

Now, I copied dcpflics.lic from a workstation to the license serwer, the license serwer's dcp tools showed licences for DS, AB and Fume.
When I run Max on the render node and choose FumeFX it gives me a dcpflics error with the ip 192.168.1.9 saying that the license has to be reauthorized - which is logical and the sytem works.
I returned dcpflics.lic files as they should be.

What else can I try?
- I think I sent the job to BB properly
- DCP on the render node and the license serwer seem to be working fine and talking to eachother

Any ideas?

my guess is that you have Sl licenses of 1.0a and you didnt reauth for 1.1 SL .. it seems normal .. but you can ask kreso as i might be wrong as of when\what has been changed..

Hi,
One possibility, have you maybe used the same FumeFX installers for workstations and simulation nodes? Since this are 2 different install packages.

Also, the server's .ini shoud have

...but it probably does already.
