check out Terragen2 for the clouds

i'm sure a bunch of folks have played with it and i'm hoping the Sitni Sati guys will or have checked it out so they can learn from it. the clouds are amazing in terms of variety (cirrus, alto, cumulus, 2D & 3D versions), the controls and quality of the output. though currently the rendering times are so so so long. its painful. it should be addressed with the upcoming beta.

we gotta get these quality of clouds in the next version of DS.

Yes, there are some very nice cloud renderings on their pages.
Some of the things I'd like to see in a new release of Dreamscape are inter-planetary scale as seen in their gallery, such as over whole earth view including eclipse of DS sun model, complete cloud, terrain and ocean model (big, probably an amazing amount of work).
The current version number 2 (2.5 mostly compatibility updates) of Dreamscape is coming up on five years old I think, so I'm sure there is a lot in the works.
