volumes not rendering correctly in fog
#1
Hi
I am having a problem trying to add depth in a scene with afterburn volumes. I am using vray, octane shader and AB fog (not volume or layered). The problem seems to be where volumes are overlapping from the cameras perspective. Any ideas? Is fog or zdepth preferable for this effect?
thanks

Hello,

How does it render with Scanline ?
In AfterBurn, try to set rendering limit to 0 and see if it make any changes.

scanline has the same result. The rendering limit has no effect. I have tried turning off shadows and playing with step size with no luck. Changing the rendering type doesn't seem to help either.
Can you explain the workflow in getting an Afterburn z-depth pass? I believe I am supposed to use a render element but I don't see anything that makes sense.
thanks

Hello,

Z-Depth is available only as Render Effect (you can see it in G-buffer). New AfterBurn 4.0 will be able to write it to a Render Element.
Can you please email me your fog scene to mailto:kresimit@afterworks.com and I'll take a look.

Thank you.
