Shots go through matchmove dept. so the scene size is sometimes really large, sometimes really small (e.g. sometimes everything within 10,000 units of origin, sometimes 100 units).
I remember hearing from Rif and others that the dynamics could change based on the size of the fume grid in world units.
Is this still true?
I read this but am still not clear if the size of the fume grid in world units affects dynamics behavior:

Hello,
To resize grid and sources, the best way is to go through "Rescale World units" utility.
If you do it by hand, there are so many factors that you need to adjust.

Thanks, Kresimir,
But actually I am wondering if there is any difference in dynamics behavior if the world & grid are very large versus very small... will the smoke & fire behave differently or will there be any other differences?
thanks!
If you use the above mentioned tool, differences should be minimal - if noticable at all.

Hi kresimir.
Regarding rescaling the scene, i have to do the same thing , but i'm wondering knowing that i'm far from a normal Max user, more of a Maya one, what is the "Rescale World units" utility?
Thanks.

Hi Pierre,
Rescale world units is a 3ds max built in tool for rescaling a complete scene,
with all objects, cameras, lights,etc..
Kresimir
Thanks Kresimir.
I'm such a maya user and XSi too, but as for 3dMax, i'm such a rubush piece of noobish junk. Thanks
I'll search within 3dMax search tool and see.
Peace.
