Hello,

If you are installing it on a new machine, you will need to ask for a new auth code
and delete the old license.

Hi Kresimir,

I was wondering what the situation is with using the same licence with a laptop. (Say I needed to go back and forth on site with Afterburn, or Dreamscape)

A lot of software allows an install of the same licence on a workstation and a laptop (Max included), but the situation is a bit unclear with regards to plugins.

It used to be easier with the hardware dongle, as the hardware lock ID was tied to that but ever since the software lock, it's a bit more complicated.

Thanks,

Steve

Hello Steve,

User can always contact us or Turbo Squid and requst for an auth code for a notebook.
There shouldn't be any problems on issuing another auth code in that case, assuming that the same
license is not used at the same time on both computers.

You're right about hard locks. They made life easier in regards to licensing, as 3ds max ID was always the same.

Great, thanks.

Yeah, hard locks have their negatives and postives - easier to transfer stuff, but you're a bit stuffed if they fail.

Cheers,

Steve
